Edith May Anderson is one of seven women who enlisted during WWII from (Saybrook)  Deep River. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy and earned the rank of Yeoman 3rd class. Prior to enlisting, Edith worked as the secretary of R. W. Stevens in the procurement department of Pratt, Read & Co. She has been stationed at Stillwater Oklahoma for the past three months. She is now en route to Lida Beach L.I. and was given a 7-day furlough at home, She will be on duty at Lido Beach doing clerical work at the Navy Receiving Barracks.
