On June 19th, the Deep River Historical Society and Chester Historical Society hosted a presentation on Connecticut’s connection with PT boats dating back to World War II. Our Shoreline towns have had an important maritime history that has continued into modern times. John Cunningham of Deep River and Jeff Ridgway of Chester told the story of how their grandfathers collaborated in a project to build PT boats for the Navy to use in the war. The maritime legacy of the Chase and Scott-Paine families was very compelling to hear.
