Annual Meeting March 16th!

Our annual meeting will be held on March 16th at 7:00 pm in the Carriage House. This will be an in-person event. We will practice social distancing and masks will be worn but will follow current guidelines if things change. We are not going to host a potluck dinner as we have in the past. We will have a short 

Shoreline Historical Society Coffee

DRHS will be hosting members of historical societies from the Shoreline area for a tour of the new exhibit and a discussion on how their organizations are surviving the pandemic and other pertinent topics. We will open at 9:00 am for those wishing to tour the exhibits. Coffee will begin at 10:00 am.

DRHS Welcomes Warriors in the Community

We are looking forward to hosting the Valley Warriors on their Community Service Day. These wonderful students can accomplish so much in such a short period of time. *Rain Date is May 26th.

The Strawberry Social is Back!

We are so excited that our Strawberry Social is back and in person! Door Open at 1:00 pm. Outdoor will be available weather permitting. Take-out is available! $7.50 for adults and $4.00 for children under 7 years of age. Don't forget about our Berry Basket Raffle!

Frank Santoro brings you new stories about Deep River! He will be available to talk about his creation and sign copies of his newest book, as well as his other book Deep River Stories. The book is illustrated by Deep River artists. More details TBA!

Erik Hesselberg Book Talk – Night Boat to New York.

On Sunday afternoon October 2nd, the Deep River Historical Society and the Chester Historical Societies welcome Erik Hesselberg to the Chester Meeting House. This well-known author and Haddam native will be speaking about steamboats on the CT River (1815 to 1931) and his most recent book Night Boat to New York.
