Author Event with Jerry Roberts
September 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Historian and author Jerry Roberts will visit the Carriage House in Deep River on Thursday September 26, at 6 pm to discuss his new book The Connecticut River from the Air: An Intimate Perspective of New England’s Historic Waterway.
The book is a collaborative project with former Marine Corps fighter pilot, Tom Walsh and takes readers on an extraordinary adventure along the 410-mile course of New England’s greatest river. Learn how pilot/photographer Tom Walsh and author/historian Jerry Roberts explored this amazing river from its mouth on Long Island Sound to its source just a few hundred yards from the Canadian border. Rediscover this great river as it flows through four states and hundreds of years of history, punctuated by villages and towns, bridges and dams, and breathtaking natural beauty.
The book features stunning aerial photographs, way finding maps, and a dynamic narrative all of which brings this incredible waterway to life like never before. Books will be available for purchase after the talk.
This event is co-sponsored by the Deep River Public Library and the Deep River Historical Society. There is no registration for this event. All are welcome. Admission is Free.
